HSC 290 Medical History Travel Course

This course introduces students to the history of medical science through time. Students will learn about the advancements of health and medicine from the ancient times to the present. Students will learn how advances often coincided with cultural shifts or advancements in other areas, like art and science. This course is the pre- or co-requisite for HSC 290L, which has students travel to sites that helped shape medicine over time. This course teaches students about medical artifacts and exposes them to cultural differences in modern health and medicine, while HSC 290L allows the students to engage at these sites through travel.
