Art Minor

The minor in art is intended for students who are interested in design thinking, creative problem-solving and gaining skills with tools and techniques relevant to a wide range of materials and processes. It provides students from other majors the opportunity to develop a solid experience of concepts, methods and issues that are common throughout a wide variety of art, design and humanities disciplines, and which can be applied to many fields of study and careers. Students seeking the minor may elect a focused course of study from any of the core disciplines: art history, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking or three-dimensional media.

Throughout the program, students learn to acquire essential technical, conceptual and theory-based skills to translate concepts into individual expressions through a solid set of skills and contemporary artistics strategies.
