EDU 418 Reading Practicum

This culminating practicum, taken in conjunction with EDU 413 Final Internship Practicum IV, provides Elementary Education teacher candidates the opportunity to apply and demonstrate mastery of effective, research-based reading instruction. Candidates implement comprehensive reading plans that incorporate systematic and sequential approaches to teaching reading, including phonological and phonemic awareness, decoding, and multisensory intervention strategies to support all learners, including students with dyslexia or characteristics of dyslexia. Through assessment, data analysis, and the systematic problem-solving process, candidates use evidence-based practices to promote reading achievement for all students.
