FIN 455 Real Estate Finance and Investments

This course prepares students to understand the risks and rewards of financing and investing in residential and commercial real estate. The topics include real estate investing, appraising, leasing, secondary mortgage market, basic derivative securities, real estate portfolio management, and real estate innovations. It also introduces how new trends such as “Proptech” would impact the risk and return for both lenders and investors. This course is designed to help students understand these many factors so that they can perform the necessary analysis and make informed real estate finance and investment decisions.
