Professional Development Practicum: Career and Leadership Development
All MBA students must take 4 credit hours (two two-hour sections) for the Professional Business Practicum, BUS 697 (Career and Leadership Development) and BUS 698 (Career and Leadership Development II). Full-time students can request to count up to two hours of internship credit toward their practicum (see the BUS 698 course description for specific guidelines). Students must enroll in BUS 697 after completing MGT 598. BUS 698 is taken after BUS 697. Students will be assigned a faculty member who will help facilitate and track the practicum process. BUS 697 will focus on helping students develop their leadership potential. In BUS 698 students may participate in a wide variety of activities to reinforce their leadership plan. Examples of activities include but are not limited to internships, professional meeting participation, career development activities, collaborative research projects, service learning projects, and travel study courses.
