FIN 450 Risk Management for Business

Students will evaluate a variety of types of risk that impact a company's financial performance. Students will develop a comprehensive risk management strategy for a firm that incorporates derivative securities, insurance, and other risk management tools. Formal and informal written assignments will be used to enhance the students' understanding of the impact of risk management strategies on a firm's individual performance and on the economic environment. The course requires extensive use of MS Excel at the intermediate level for evaluating the financial implications of decisions
