HON - Honors
The course is an introduction to the Honors Program. Students learn the expectations and commitments that come with participation in Honors in addition to a general introduction to college. The course introduces students to the philosophical underpinnings of the Honors Program and begins developing the skills necessary to complete the Honors Program, particularly the Honors Thesis. Students are encouraged to explore the Honors Program curriculum and opportunities and to continue their pursuit of experiential learning and undergraduate inquiry. Each course is uniquely connected to the scholarship of the faculty member teaching the course.

The Honors Thesis is a culminating project for Honors Program students. Honors Theses are discipline specific. The Honors Thesis independent study can be conducted under the guidance of any full-time faculty member at UT. Subject matter for the course will be determined through student-faculty consultation. The course may be taken multiple times for up to a total of 10 credit hours.
