NUR 322 Contemporary Issues and Policy in Healthcare Practice
This course explores current issues of patient care in contemporary health care systems. The health care delivery system is examined from political, economic, legal and ethical perspectives. Students will examine U.S and global health issues, inter-professional collaboration, and measures that promote quality, safety, and better health outcomes in patient care. Embedded in the human experience of illness and health are rich sub-concepts with ethical and moral implications such as bioethics, addiction, abuse, cultural awareness, healthcare disparities, self-care, health policy and politics. Students are challenged to examine and propose solutions on issues that influence health for individuals and populations.
