E. Visiting Faculty

Visiting faculty are temporary appointments that exist to fill vacancies for the following reasons including, but not limited to:

a resignation
a failed search
a faculty member on medical leave or leave of absence
a faculty member on sabbatical
the temporary appointment of a faculty member to an administrative position

Visitors at rank have research, teaching and service expectations based upon the needs of the Department.

Visiting faculty appointments are temporary, normally not to exceed five years, or in the case of serving as a placeholder for an administrative appointment, not to exceed the length of the vacancy.
