PAM 604 Applied Physiology and Pathophysiology

Applied Physiology and Pathophysiology integrates foundational physiology with mechanisms of disease to support clinical reasoning in physician assistant education. Students examine cellular homeostasis, regulatory feedback, and organ system function while linking physiologic disruption to common pathophysiologic patterns. Content includes genetics and development foundations, inflammation and host defense principles, and system-based physiology and pathophysiology across cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, endocrine, neurologic, gastrointestinal, hepatic, and hematologic systems. Learning is reinforced through case-based application, cumulative assessment, and problem-solving activities. Enrollment is restricted to students in the UTampa Physician Assistant Medicine (PAM) program.
