PAM 699 Assessment of Student Competencies and Educational Development (ASCEND) III

Competency-based longitudinal assessment course that evaluates student progression toward program-defined physician assistant competencies during the final didactic semester. Through scheduled assessment events, students complete cumulative evaluations of medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, communication, clinical and technical skills, and professional behaviors to support readiness for supervised clinical practice experiences. Performance data guide structured feedback, individualized learning plans, and early identification of learners needing remediation. Successful completion of required competency checkpoints is necessary for progression into the clinical phase of the PAM curriculum.
