PAM 626 Physician Assistant Profession

Introduces the physician assistant profession and the professional responsibilities required for entry-level clinical practice. Emphasizes the history and development of the PA profession, PA roles on collaborative healthcare teams, PA practice models, professional identity formation, and expectations for professional conduct. Students examine legal and regulatory frameworks governing PA practice, ethical decision-making, professional communication, and standards of behavior within academic and clinical environments.
