PAM 656 Clinical-Based Skills and Procedures I

Clinical-Based Skills and Procedures I is a performance-focused course that develops core clinical skills and procedures required for safe entry into supervised clinical practice experiences. The course emphasizes patient safety, infection control, patient-centered communication, teamwork, and accurate clinical documentation. Instruction includes hands-on skills lab, structured simulation, and occasional demonstrations aligned with the concurrent Clinical Medicine I system block (Orthopedics/Rheumatology, Dermatology, Infectious Diseases, Hematology/Oncology, Pulmonology, and EENT/Oral Health). Assessment includes written knowledge checks and performance-based evaluations using OSCE and OSATS-style checkoffs. Enrollment restricted to UTampa PAM students.
