PAM 671 Medical Diagnostics II

Medical Diagnostics II advances students’ ability to select, order, interpret, and apply diagnostic tests used in primary care medical decision-making. Content is aligned with the concurrent Clinical Medicine II system-based block and emphasizes appropriate utilization, cost-conscious care, avoidance of low-value testing, and clear documentation of diagnostic rationale and interpretation. Topics include advanced clinical laboratory medicine, diagnostic imaging indications and introductory interpretation, and system-aligned diagnostic approaches for cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal/genitourinary, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and neurologic presentations. Instruction includes lecture, case-based learning, and occasional demonstrations. Enrollment restricted to UTampa PAM students.
