PAM 697 Assessment of Student Competencies and Educational Development (ASCEND) I

Competency-based, longitudinal assessment course that evaluates students’ progression toward program-defined physician assistant competencies during the first didactic semester. Through scheduled assessment events, students complete cumulative evaluations of medical knowledge, clinical reasoning, communication, technical skills, and professional behaviors. Performance data are used to provide structured feedback, guide individualized learning plans, and support early identification of students needing remediation. Successful completion of required competency checkpoints is necessary for progression within the PAM curriculum sequence.
